Once You're There

Your email is in the cloud. Now what? There are a number of important considerations that should go into moving your email to the cloud. And these probably should be considered before you choose your email provider. Many cloud-based solutions will have optional add-ons which may not seem necessary initially, but may become crucial to your organization over time.

These include:

Email Archiving: Solutions that capture and store all emails (and attachments) sent or received in a centralized online repository.

Email Security: Solutions that protect your inboxes from online threats including spam, viruses and phishing scams.

Unified Communications: A suite of online solutions, including voicemail, email, IM/presence, and web conferencing that optimize communications.

Like your email options, you can also choose to purchase any of these solutions as on-premise (software and hardware-based) or as a hosted service. The reality is that more and more businesses are choosing to leverage the cloud for these services to simplify their IT infrastructure, overcome resource constraints and lower their TCO (total cost of ownership).

But, in order to realize these benefits and customize a complete solution, you will need to do your homework to ensure that your cloud email solution offers a way to meet these additional requirements or at the very least integrates with other providers that can meet your needs. The good news is that we’ve already started the assignment for you by creating information on what to consider once your email is in the cloud, including links to other helpful resources. Our goal is to help you create a plan that meets the unique needs and requirements of your organization.
